"Many of my fondest memories are from being a member of the high school band for 4 years. At that time the band was very large and we did a lot of traveling to professional football games to perform half time shows. We worked hard and were very proud to be members of the Nationally Known Alliance High School Marching Band."

"An influential staff member was Mr. Tonges. He made government class very interesting and sparked an interest that led me to getting my first job in a law firm."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I was doing a lot of volunteering at Rockhill Elementary and looking for a part-time job so that I could work during the hours that my children were in school and be home before and after school and during the summer months."
Importance of giving back:
"I was born and raised in this town, moved to a larger city and decided to return once my children were very small. In hindsight, it was a good choice to return so that my children could grow up with their immediate family nearby. Being employed by the District gave me an opportunity to be more involved in my children's education and have a better understanding of the educational system as a whole."

Casey Cross' Kindergarten students finished learning about the five senses with a Mystery Taste Test Lab. Students were able to sample vinegar (bitter), lemon juice (sour) and salt water (salty). To cleanse their puckered pallets, they finished with a more enjoyed treat of salty popcorn and sweet Kool-Aid! What a fun activity! 😋 #RepthatA
Our transportation staff were celebrated last night at the annual Transportation Banquet hosted by the Stark County Educational Service Center! 🚌 The banquet recognizes the hard work and dedication of transportation teams across Stark County who serve students and their communities throughout the year.

"I have so many. From Liberty Elementary to State Street Middle School to AHS, the memories and friendships helped shape who I am. Just a few that still stand out are the 5th grade Patrol trip to Washington, DC, and my first musical, 'Give My Regards to Broadway' in 8th grade. At AHS, I was involved in everything music, Band, Jetsetters, Choir, Full Orchestra and the Spring Musicals, all of which provided lasting memories and friendships. Another great high school memory was getting to go back to DC with Mr. Ballor and the Humanities class."

"Wayne Fisher was an influence on me not only as a student, but when I started teaching here. Being a part of the choirs and musicals as a student was the best part of high school for me. Another teacher I admired when I was a teacher and when I started teaching here, was Sally Ailes. I loved her Spanish classes and she would always come to support students in so many things outside of school."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I wanted to come back to the place where I made so many great memories and try to offer that to other students. I loved the music department and always felt like it was where I wanted to be as a student. I loved being a part of that at the high school when I taught there, and now that I teach at the elementary, I love seeing my students grow and continue their journey through middle school and high school. It is so much fun to go to events and see my former elementary students doing great things in music."
Importance of giving back:
"This school and community have helped shape me into the person I am. I am thankful for all the friendships and memories I was able to make as a student here and I think it is important to invest in the next generation of Aviators and try to inspire them the same way so many teachers throughout my 13 years of school inspired me."

Eighteen AHS students from the 99th Squadron, Superintendent’s Leadership Group, and HOBY attendees had the opportunity to tour downtown Alliance with guide Dalton Rininger Kline!
They learned about the city’s rich history related to manufacturing and the railroad, the historic structures, and current economic development projects shaping Alliance’s future. The tour wrapped up at the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce, where they heard from Randy Ruszkowski, Director of the Alliance Health Department, and Rick Baxter, President of the Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce and Alliance Area Development.
This was an incredible learning experience for our young leaders! They walked away inspired and ready to share what they learned with their peers! ✈ #RepthatA

"Mr. Morris - He was always positive. He would say there wasn't a problem you couldn't solve if you put forward your best effort and set your mind to it. That holds true in life and not just math equations. He was always willing to help you when you needed it."
Choosing to work for ACS:
"I had kids in the school system so I wanted to work a job that I could be off when they were off and also still be able to be there for them when they got on the bus and when they got home. It was such a great way for me to get back into the workforce. Coming back to the school my parents graduated from, my siblings and I graduated from, and my children graduated from, turned into one of my best life decisions. My mom also retired from ACS."
Importance of giving back:
"I have always been proud of our small town and our school system. I would like to give back to the community I was raised in by being a positive and caring influence on the students and staff I get to work with, and to continue to build a strong and caring community."

Megan Harper and Cindy Gaines’ classes celebrated Apple Day and so did Bailey Balderson’s class last week! Each class enjoyed a yummy apple tasting featuring red, green, and yellow apples. Yellow apples were voted the favorite by both classes! 🍏

"I truly had great memories all throughout my time at ACS, so it's hard to pick just one. One of my favorites was being in Mr. Green's social studies class with Maddie Waggoner and Madi Gasparik in middle school. We had the best time in his class and he always made learning fun."
Influential Staff Members:
"Mrs. Haba and Mr. Fontaine were influential in my years at ACS. I can remember getting off the bus for the first day of 1st grade and being carried off the bus to my classroom. Mrs. Haba let me sit on her lap for the morning and was always so kind. Mr. Fontaine was my band director from 6th to 12th grade and he always had a way to make band fun. He took the time to get to know each of his students no matter how many of us there were. Their kindness and dedication to their students made my time at ACS so memorable."

"I chose to come back and work for ACS because of the amazing, dedicated teachers I had growing up. It is one of the main reasons I became a teacher in the first place. The teachers I had were so supportive and thoughtful and I knew they would do anything for any one of their students. I wanted to come back and give that same experience to other children. I want for other kids to know that they have someone here to support and love them."

Cheryl Jackson's class at Alliance Middle School have been studying apples and their five senses. 👃 Recently, they used their senses to make art with apples! 🍏 They created apples out of crushed tissue paper and stamped with apples. Everyone enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to future activities! #RepthatA
