Last week, some of our ACS school counselors and Stephanie Wood, one of our family support specialists, had the opportunity to volunteer at The Ben Curtis foundation where they helped to pack birdie bags. In just two hours, hey packed over 2200 bags!
"It was such a great experience," said Allison Morrison, an AHS counselor. "Being able to be a part of this was so cool, knowing that our very own students will receive some of the bags that we packed. The Ben Curtis foundation is so organized and efficient, and they help so many families in northeast Ohio."
ACS receives 650 birdie bags a month from The Ben Curtis Foundation. The bags help to provide food support for students and families in our schools.
We are so thankful for all that The Ben Curtis Foundation does to help meet the needs of our student! #RepthatA

Missing school just twice a month can have a negative impact on a child's educational experience. It's important for students to be in the classrooms where they can learn and grow. #RepthatA

For a class project, senior Gracie Weaver wrote a song based on her reading of "Apostrophe To Sarah Pierrepont" by Jonathan Edwards, a selection in the Norton Anthology of American Literature. This project was done for her dual-credit American Literature class, which is offered through Stark State here at AHS.
While the song is "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane, she wrote the lyrics herself!
