The kindergarten classes at Alliance Early Learning School recently finished their community helpers unit, which allowed them to learn about all kids of different jobs and careers! They had the opportunity to hear from a guest speakers from many different career fields.
One of the guest speakers was Abbey Blake, the Jobs for Ohio Graduates (JOG) teacher at Alliance High School. Mrs. Blake, along with two of her students spoke with the kids about the importance of making good first impressions and about how JOG helps to teach the AHS students important job-related skills.
Exposing our young Aviators to a variety of career fields helps them to learn what their interests are and what careers they may want when they grow up! The sky's the limit for our Aviators! ✈️ #RepthatA

Lindsay Bonilla, a children's author 📚 from North Canton, visited the students at Alliance Preschool, Alliance Early Learning School and Alliance Elementary School to bring one of her books to life! Lindsay read her story "Polar Bear Island" for all the students to enjoy.
The book is about Kirby the Penguin 🐧 visiting Polar Bear Island where she meets Parker the Polar Bear 🐻❄️, who is a bit hesitant about having a penguin on the island. Kirby and her family spend time on the island and show Parker and the other polar bears that it's not so bad to make new friends.
Lindsay brought the story to life by incorporating some of the students at each building. She brought special props that turned the students into Parker the Polar Bear and Kirby and her family of Penguins. The students had a blast learning about Polar Bear Island and hearing about Lindsay's career as an author, her family and the inspiration behind her stories.
We appreciate Lindsay for stopping by our schools and sharing her stories with our Aviators! A big thank you goes to the Alliance Elementary PTO for sponsoring her visit! #RepthatA
