Dear Parents,

Earlier this afternoon, administrators at Alliance High School made the decision to place the building into a precautionary shelter-in-place status. Shortly beforehand, local law enforcement officers from the Village of Sebring contacted school officials to inform them that they would need to enter the building during the school day to locate a student who is the focus of an ongoing investigation. Upon learning this, school administrators determined that a shelter-in-place was the safest possible decision for our students and staff members. At no time were any students in danger and no weapons of any kind were found on our campus.

We realize the sensitivity that comes with such decisions and want our families and community to understand the facts behind this decision. Student safety and wellbeing continues to be our foremost priority. Our staff and students are to be commended for following our shelter-in-place protocols.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Rob Gress
Superintendent
