✈ Lisa Buehman ✈
Position: LRC
School: Alliance Middle School
Graduation Year: 2004
Years at ACS: 4

Favorite Memory:
"I loved the musicals we did at AHS. They were always the best!"

Influential Staff Member:
"Ms. Sally Ailes was such a wonderful person and had a passion for the Spanish language and education in general. She made learning fun and challenging."

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I want the students to know that people in their community can be and are successful! That being raised in a low-income family doesn't determine your value or your chance to be successful."

Importance of giving back:
"It's important to me to invest in the community that was so important to my education and upbringing. I had so many wonderful teachers and I hope to be that same person for someone else."

Ms. Buehman's story is a reminder that every student deserves someone who believes in them, and she is proud to be that person for our Aviators. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

Alliance Middle School held its annual Staff vs. Student Volleyball Game, and it was full of energy, excitement, and plenty of friendly competition! 🏐 Both teams played well, but this year the staff came out on top. Great job to everyone who participated and cheered them on! ✈ #RepthatA

"I'm thankful to be an Aviator because it allows me to work with amazing students and staff every day, as well as be close to home so that I can be involved with my family and my kids’ sports. I used to drive almost an hour each way to work and working 7 minutes from home is a huge blessing!!" ❤️ #RepthatA

Position: School Resource Officer
School: Alliance Middle School
Graduation Year: 2003
Years at ACS: 2

Favorite Memory:
"Looking back, my favorite memories are the times I got to spend with classmates who became lifelong friends."

Influential Staff Member:
"Mr. King is the one who sticks out the most because he made sure I came to school and kept me out of trouble."

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I've worked for Alliance Police Department in the patrol division for 10 years. When they decided to expand the SRO program, I jumped at the chance because I thought I could make a bigger difference in the community from there. I love building trust and relationships with the kids in hopes of showing them that we are people like everyone else."

Importance of giving back:
"Serving in the same community where I grew up allows me to give back to the people and places that helped shape who I am. I feel a responsibility to make sure students here feel supported, safe, and proud of their school, just like I did."

Officer Lauener’s commitment to supporting students and building trust shows what it truly means to give back to the community that raised you. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

The Alliance Board of Education recognized five incredible Aviators at last night’s meeting!

Allyssa Schaffert (6th), Jonathan Ferrall (5th), Katie Carpenter (4th), and Daniel Clark (4th) were honored for earning the highest possible score on the 2024–25 Ohio State Math Tests. This is no easy feat, and these four Aviators impressed everyone with their outstanding achievement and academic excellence!

Lincoln Smith, a 4th grader, was also recognized for his artistic talent after winning the Most Creative Design Award in the Stark County Safety Poster Contest.

Each student and their family were invited to the meeting to celebrate these amazing accomplishments. We are so proud of our young Aviators! ✈ #RepthatA

Alliance City Schools recently held the 3rd Annual Futures Fest! ✈ The event is an evening full of career exploration that supports the district’s vision of preparing all Aviators for Life, College, and Careers.

The event featured a job fair with more than 70 vendors, including employers, colleges, and branches of the military. Students, families, and community members were able to stop by to talk with vendors and gather information about future careers, schooling, and opportunities. The evening also included a career fashion show featuring middle school students.

Futures Fest offers activities each year for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. This year, elementary students read about possible careers and filled out activity sheets about what they want to be when they grow up. #RepthatA

7th and 8th graders in Matt Horning’s Career Explorations class at Alliance Middle School designed an amusement park as a culminating activity at the end of the first nine weeks. The students first learned about possible careers in Arts and Media, Architecture and Construction, and Information Technology. They filled out a short application and were hired for one of eight different jobs.
Students from four different classes worked together to design and construct their Galaxy Adventure Amusement Park. They agreed the biggest challenges were communication between classes, or “work shifts,” and meeting deadlines. 🎠🎢

A flyer for the #LikeAGirl program at Alliance High School. The title “#LikeAGirl” is bold at the top with silhouettes of confident young women on each side. The left section explains that this free program connects elementary and middle school girls with high school female mentors who are leaders in sports, clubs, and academics at Alliance High School (AHS). The goal is to empower younger girls to recognize their potential and build life skills. The center section lists event details: Date: November 19, 2025 Time: 6–7 p.m. Location: Alliance High School, Room 235 A QR code is included for registration or more information. The right section describes the evening’s activity: Mr. Quicci will teach participants photography skills, encouraging girls to capture the world through their own eyes. The text reads, “The girls aren’t just in the photos anymore — they’re the ones creating them.” Contact information for Mrs. McKnight is provided: mcknightst@alliancecityschools.org . The design uses black text on a white background with light pink graphic accents.
