The students at Alliance Early Learning School grew butterflies this year! They got them as little caterpillars and watched as they grew to be beautiful butterflies. Once they were ready, the classes released their butterflies, and held some in the process! #RepthatA
The 3rd graders at Alliance Elementary School took part in their annual historical field trip! They visited the Haines House, Mabel Hartzell Historical Home and the Rodman Public Library!

Last week, Alliance High School added a new member to the Career Tech Hall of Fame! Mike Tonges graduated from the Media Arts CTE program in 1975. Throughout his career, he has worked with Fortune 500 companies, every major broadcast and sports network, the White House, and has provided a local television presence for the last 22 years. He has worked on national coverage of political campaigns and conventions, the Indianapolis 500, World Series and NBA Finals. His production company, Image Video in North Canton has won Telly, Addy and other corporate video awards as well as doing Emmy nominated work.
Mr. Tonges is a great representative of what careers are possible through the Alliance CTE programs. We are honored to add him to the CTE Hall of Fame! Congratulations, Mr. Tonges! #RepthatA

The AES students kicked off the performing arts portion of the ACS Fine Arts Showcase on Monday! Students in 2nd and 3rd sang songs using different musical elements they have learned about this year.
For the first time, some of the 3rd graders showed off their musical skills by playing ukuleles. They preformed songs such as "Hey Ho" by the Lumineers and "Thunder" by Imagine Dragons.

The students in Tanya Coler's class at PLDC hatched baby chicks! They studied the eggs during the incubation process and learned about how baby chickens grow in the eggs until they hatch. They were so excited to be able to hold the baby chicks! #RepthatA

Alliance Intermediate School unveiled their bottle cap mural last week! 9792 bottle caps were used to create the mural featuring the phrase "Alliance City Schools Or Nowhere."
The bottle caps and materials to complete the project were donated by businesses, organizations, families and staff members throughout the year. Volunteers helped with the painting of the mural and assisting the students placing the bottle caps. The students at AIS drilled the thousands of bottle caps on to the mural to create this wonderful mural.
The mural will be on display at the Rodman Public Library through May 26 for all to see before returning back to AIS.
The remaining bottle caps were recycled and made into a bench located at the school.
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this project possible through volunteering and donations! A special thank you goes out to AIS Art teacher Renee Marinchek and the rest of the staff for bringing the mural to life. #RepthatA

During his time at AHS, he ran Track and Cross Country and was part of the Soccer team. He was also part of Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Speech and Debate, Academic Challenge, Class Officers and Student Senate.
