This Thursday, April 26, at 7:00 pm the AHS Band will hold their annual spring concert. This year the band celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the "Days of Glory" album recorded by the AHS Band in 1967-1968 under the direction of John Weitzel. The 2018 edition of the AHS band will play some pieces that can be found on the album as well as songs that celebrate other things turning 50 this year. Both of the AHS Concert Bands will be featured at the performance as well as the AHS Jazz Band.
Members of the "Days of Glory" Scholarship committee will be in the lobby to accept donations toward their scholarship that annually benefits an AHS senior who has participated in music education while at Alliance.
We hope to see you there!

Mrs. Bowser's class at AELS made these shadowboxes for the ECEA Art Auction. They would make great additions to any ACS supporting business, home or even one of the schools! The auction is April 17 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Jupiter Studios. Get your tickets now by emailing honakeal@mountunion.edu

It is difficult to stay on top of the latest technology and how your student is using it. Especially with apps on their devices. Here is a guide for parents and teachers on the latest apps and what students use them for: https://smartsocial.com/app-guide-parents-teachers/

The High School Spring Art Show is in the lobby of the high school and can be viewed by the public prior to any of the Willy Wonka Musical Performances today, Saturday or Sunday! Here are a few of the pieces:

The Early Childhood Education Alliance does much to help young children in the Alliance area be prepared for kindergarten. Here is an opportunity to have some fun, buy some student art, and support ECEA in their efforts for our students. https://www.alliancecityschools.org/article/46826

Shari Johnson and Susan Mann's preschool class are published authors!!! The students wrote a book called "Where Are You Going" and the idea on how the book came about was rather interesting. Shari Johnson during one of her morning routine lessons rolled a ball around on the floor to each student and asked them where they were going. Each student would respond differently. One of the answers the students said was that there were going to the store. From there, Shari Johnson asked the students what they were going to the store to get and that is where the fun began. The students went to the store to buy items for a party. Each student named their items from cupcakes, party hats and punch and they also illustrated their own pictures as well. Parents from the class came to hear the story as each student stood proud and stated loud their part of the book. Congratulations to the preschool class on becoming published authors and a huge thank you goes out to Shari Johnson and Susan Mann for all of their hard work and dedication on this project!
