From Superintendent Jeffery Talbert's office: In the Alliance City School District the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. This morning, on Bus 5, one of the kindergarten students brought a gun onto the bus in their backpack. At the time, there was only one other student on the bus and they showed the gun to that student. That student reported it to the bus driver, who immediately stopped the bus and safely took the backpack and kept it in her possession. I would like to thank the student who was brave enough to report the gun, as well as the bus driver for handling the situation calmly and safely. I would also like to thank the Alliance Police for assisting in this situation and working to keep our students safe. Again, the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority.

Here is a great free resource for parents offered by North Canton City Schools: NCCS is bringing in Brooks Gibbs, a social skills educator, to speak next Tuesday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Hoover Hall at Hoover High School. The event is open to the public.

Students were evacuated from the High School building today after a fire alarm went off at 10:05 a.m. The Alliance Fire Department and staff assessed the situation as students waited outside for 15 minutes. The building was determined to be safe and secure and students have returned to class.

Due to a lack of change in conditions Alliance City Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, January 16. The Alliance Career Center will still have classes.

Due to inclement weather, Alliance City Schools will be on a 2 hour delay Today, Tuesday January 16th 2018. Adult Education day and evening classes are in session and operating on a normal schedule

Due to inclement weather ACS is closed today, Monday January 8. The Adult Career Center day classes are cancelled. Evening classes are still in session.

Due to the dangerously cold temperatures anticipated for tomorrow, Alliance City Schools will not be in session Friday, January 5.

Coat collection for students happening now through Nov. 15. New or gently used winter coats can be dropped off at any ACS school building before Nov. 15 for distribution on the 16th.
