Our youngest Aviators from Alliance Preschool enjoyed a fun family engagement day at Hot Pots on Friday! The students, with the help of their families, painted Easter-themed ceramics. They had so much fun showing off their creativity! 🎨 #RepthatA #ACSFamilyEngagement

Lindsay Bonilla, a children's author 📚 from North Canton, visited the students at Alliance Preschool, Alliance Early Learning School and Alliance Elementary School to bring one of her books to life! Lindsay read her story "Polar Bear Island" for all the students to enjoy. The book is about Kirby the Penguin 🐧 visiting Polar Bear Island where she meets Parker the Polar Bear 🐻‍❄️, who is a bit hesitant about having a penguin on the island. Kirby and her family spend time on the island and show Parker and the other polar bears that it's not so bad to make new friends. Lindsay brought the story to life by incorporating some of the students at each building. She brought special props that turned the students into Parker the Polar Bear and Kirby and her family of Penguins. The students had a blast learning about Polar Bear Island and hearing about Lindsay's career as an author, her family and the inspiration behind her stories. We appreciate Lindsay for stopping by our schools and sharing her stories with our Aviators! A big thank you goes to the Alliance Elementary PTO for sponsoring her visit! #RepthatA

Reminder: Friday, March 15 is an early dismissal for all buildings. Schools will let out two hours early. Alliance Preschool will not have school. Instead families are encouraged to take part in the planned Family Engagement day. #RepthatA

We are excited to announce that every student and staff member at Alliance City Schools will receive a pair of Solar Eclipse Glasses! These special glasses will allow our Aviators to safely experience this historic event. The glasses will be distributed by the buildings at the beginning of April. #RepthatA

Our youngest Aviators at Alliance Preschool were visited by two animal Friends from the Akron Zoo! The students got to meet a tenrec and a chinchilla. They learned a little bit about each of the animals then had the chance to carefully pet each one. They loved how soft the chinchilla felt. #RepthatA

Alliance City Schools will be closed on Monday, April 8th for the Solar Eclipse. After consulting with the Stark County Emergency Management Agency and the Stark County Education Service Center, we have determined that it is in the best interests of our students, staff, and families to close school due to the anticipated number of people that will visit Stark County to view the Eclipse.
