
Kindergarteners completed a unit on kindness. Each class participated in activities centered around kindness. The students came together to form a picture spelling out ‘kind.' It will be displayed at AELS as a reminder of how we can practice kindness every day! #RepthatA

Deborah Ware’s preschool class has been working on “Making Music.” They have been discussing their favorite music and using new musical vocabulary words. They also had guest musicians from AHS who played and taught the students about their instruments. #RepthatA




Due to the inclement weather, Alliance City Schools will be closed Today, Friday, February 7, 2020. Alliance Career Center Adult Education day and evening classes will be in session.

Erica Thompson and Deborah Kelley's class has been having so much fun with music! The children have been learning about different types of music, the names of different instruments and their sounds and even had some guests come in to play various instruments! #RepthatA





AELS celebrated National Reading Day with guest readers! The readers read "Big Bear, Small Mouse" and discussed the book with the students! Thank you to all guest readers for celebrating National Reading Day with our young students! #RepthatA





The kindergarten students are receiving Valentine's Day cards! Each class reads their cards and puts a sticker on the map to see where their new friends live in the USA. They are making a lot of new friends all across the United States! #RepthatA





Students at AELS had the opportunity to explore the galaxy using the inflatable Star Lab. Tracy Bowser took each class on a journey through space to look at stars, constellations and the moon! It was awesome having our very own planetarium right here in Alliance! #RepthatA



Crystal Gibbons’ class finished a learning unit on Winter Wonderland, where they learned about all things winter! They read the book "The Snowy Day" and discussed the things that Peter did in the snow. Each student received their very own copy of the book to take home! #RepthatA




Lori Gasparik's class at AELS learned about snow and snowflakes during the Winter Wonderland Unit. They examined a variety of snowflakes and their unique shapes. They created their own snowflakes and learned that no two snowflakes are identical... just like children! #RepthatA

Debbie Sutton and Lisa Kinsey’s classes made edible bird feeders to help their feathered friends make it through the winter. The children hung their creations in the tree outside their window so they can observe the birds enjoying their meals! #RepthatA




The Ohio Smiles Dentist Program, a mobile dentist office, visited AELS this week! Students who participated had tooth x-rays done as well as a cleaning! They even had special fluoride painted on their teeth. They were very brave and left the chair with beautiful smiles! #RepthatA

The students in Crystal Gibbons’ kindergarten class recently learned more about authors and illustrators by becoming one themselves! They worked together to write and illustrate the story, "Joey Goes On An Adventure!" #RepthatA

As a review for learning numbers 1-20, student's in Shaena Winner's class spent time working together in groups. Students made Christmas trees and decorated them with numbered ornaments. Each group collaborated to put the numbers in the correct order! #RepthatA



Students at AELS enjoyed a day on the Polar Express! Staff and students alike had fun dressing in pajamas, reading the story and watching the movie, having cocoa and cookies, and completing Polar Express activities in their classroom! #RepthatA
