Brian Reed

ALLIANCE, OHIO – (June 2, 2021) – The Alliance City Schools Board of Education approved Brian Reed as the next principal of Alliance Middle School at the regular board workshop held Tuesday.

Reed is coming to AMS from Lake Local Schools where he served as a middle school principal and middle high assistant principal for the past 13 years. He also has three years experience as a middle school principal at Green Local Schools before starting at Lake Local.

“Mr. Reed’s experience in and love of middle school education will make him a great asset to our middle school, our district and our entire community,” said Rob Gress, superintendent. “Like our current AMS staff, he is a student-first educator who has a strong history of going above and beyond to ensure that students are prepared for life, college and careers.”

Reed received his bachelor's degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1991. He received his masters in education from the University of Akron in 1999 and he has recently completed his coursework at Ashland University to receive his superintendent's license.

The ACS administrative team was pleased with the number and quality of internal and external applicants that applied for the position. The decision was made based largely on the years of experience Reed would bring to the building, his plan to assist in strengthening the culture at AMS and his desire to lead the middle school staff and students to their highest potential.

Current assistant principals, Gary Trbovich and Andrew Toth, will remain at the middle school to assist in the transition as the current principal, Troy Russell, leaves for his new position outside of the district and Reed steps into his new role over the summer.

“I am excited to be working alongside the staff at Alliance Middle School providing opportunities for the middle school students to achieve great success,” Reed said. “In addition, I am thankful to be a part of the Alliance City School District and look forward to meeting parents and community members.”
