Tim Goodman

ALLIANCE, OHIO – (March 21, 2023) – The Alliance City Schools (ACS) Board of Education approved Tim Goodman as the new Athletic Director during Tuesday’s regular board meeting.

Goodman was hired in 2021 as the varsity football coach and math teacher at Alliance High School. In the short time he has been with Alliance City Schools, he has established himself as a leader and valued member of the Aviator Team.

“As a coach, he has proven to us that he is an organized leader who embraces our core values of having high expectations of his athletes and coaching staff while treating them with the dignity and respect that we expect,” said Superintendent Rob Gress. “It was a priority for us to find a leader who has the vision and the skills to push both our boys and girls athletic programs to the next level. I have no doubt that Tim will do just that.”

The success Goodman has had with the football program will not change. He will continue as the varsity football coach while taking on his new role as Athletic Director.

“I’m extremely excited to be the athletic director at Alliance City Schools,” Goodman said. “Mr. Gress and the Alliance City Schools Board of Education have established an outstanding culture and vision for our district and I look forward to contributing in this new role. We have a lot of momentum and exciting things happening within our athletics. I will build on that momentum and help ACS capture the goal of being a ‘3 As’ school district, meaning excellence in academics, athletics and arts. Go Aviators.”

In 2012, Goodman received a bachelor's degree from Walsh University and a master’s degree from Western Governors University in 2016. Before coming to ACS, he served as the assistant varsity football coach and math teacher at Hoover High School in North Canton.

Goodman will begin his new role as athletic director on July 1.

Alliance City Schools began their search for a new athletic director following the passing of Lenny Reich in October. Reich served as the athletic director from July 2022 until his unexpected passing in October.
