ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY SCHOLARSHIP: The mission of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.'s National Educational Educational Foundation is to support higher education achievement through scholarships and conduct community education programs and related research to improve individual and community living standards. The Foundation annually provides financial assistance to worthy students pursuing higher education both at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. With this tool, students can customize their scholarship search to meet their unique needs. THROCKMORTON SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for students who met these specific requirements: Student must be African American or Native American and must reside within the Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania geographic region, have a copy of birth certificate, attend an educational facility that must be in Northeastern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania, have a copy of current High School/College grades and GPA, have a current financial needs form from the school that documents grants, scholarships and loans being presently received, have a current bill from the school for the next semester/quarter, have a copy of the courses being taken for the next semester/quarter, write a one or more short paragraphs that should state why you should be considered, your future goals, college major/minor, needs, extracurricular activities at school or in the community, and send in final high school transcript (if applying during senior year of high school). Click here for more info.  Or, email april.m.thomas@huntington.com for questions regarding the scholarship.

DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for any young lady who is involved in school and/or community activities, has outstanding in academics, leadership, athletics, or the arts.  Click here for the link to the application.

OHIO UNIVERSITY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is available through Ohio University for any student interested in chemical engineering who is an Alliance High School graduate. Requirements include admission to Ohio University and acceptance into the Engineering college. Click here for the website to access the website. THE BEAUTY + WELLNESS SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is to support the health of college women. Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and must identify as female. All majors and GPAs are welcome to apply! Click here for the application. The scholarship will be given out quarterly. Deadlines are January 1, March 31, June 30, and September 30 every year.

HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIPS: These national and state scholarships are based on students pursuing a bachelor's degree, who have at least a 2.0 GPA and who need financial assistance for college. Click here for link

CARING.COM SCHOLARSHIP: As the population of older adults continues to grow and life spans lengthen, more and more young people are taking on the role of caregiver for older loved ones. While the exact number of young people taking on this responsibility is not well understood, it’s estimated to be well over 1 million.On top of their demanding caregiving duties, many of these young people are simultaneously pursuing high school, college or graduate-level education. Scholarships for student-caregivers help ease the financial burden faced by these extremely hardworking students. Click here for multiple scholarships. DEADLINE: Depends on which scholarship you are applying for.

COLLEGE BOARD SCHOLARSHIPS: This program was created to help students earn the chance at a scholarship. The program is currently open to class of 2021 students in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories, regardless of citizenship status. U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad may also participate. At least half of all scholarships are designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year. Click here for the application website.

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is looking for applicants for their College Scholarship. Requirements include Exceptional academic ability and achievement: Strong academic record, academic awards and honors, and substantive assessments by educators providing confidential recommendations. In addition to GPA and college entrance exam scores, we consider participation in available advanced courses, commitment to learning, and intellectual curiosity; Unmet financial need: Demonstrate unmet financial need/will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000; Persistence: Determination and perseverance in the face of challenges, ability to set and remain focused on goals and to put in the effort needed to meet those goals in the face of obstacles; Leadership: Ability to organize and positively influence others in and out of school (family, religious community, sports, arts, etc.); Service to Others: Purposeful and meaningful commitment to others which may be evidenced by participation in volunteer/community service activities. THE DR. JUAN ANDRADE SCHOLARSHIP: The Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders through the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), is seeking to award up to $1,000 to eligible applicants. This scholarship is open to students enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student, at an accredited four-year or two-year institution in the U.S. The applicant must demonstrate financial need and one parent must be of Hispanic ancestry. GREATER CANTON MLK JR. COMMISSION 2022 SCHOLARSHIP: Every year we have the privilege of giving out scholarships for our students in the Stark County community and this year is no different. We will be giving away up to (5) five $2,000 scholarships to worthy recipients. Items needed to apply are as follows: Transcripts from high school or college; Letter of Recommendation from teacher or counselor; Letter of Recommendation from one reputable citizen of your community; Letter from the applicant indicating qualifications, financial needs; and a 500-word essay outlining the impact that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's philosophy of nonviolence has had on your life; Photo. DIRK DERRICK CAR & TRUCK ACCIDENT INJURY SCHOLARSHIP: The Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad in the United States who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Dirk Derrick Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the lasting effect an auto accident has had on their life as well as their journey to overcome those challenges. Students applying must submit an essay where you explain, present, inspire, or otherwise convince us as to why you deserve to win this scholarship.There are no conditions or requirements for this essay. DISTRACTED DRIVING FAMILY PLAN SCHOLARSHIP: The Parnall Law Office is proud to offer the 2020 Scholarship Program that is designed to help interested high school (upon graduation from high school) or college students in the United States to attend an institution of higher education, while also bringing to attention to the dangers of distracted driving. $5000 in prizes will be awarded to the top 3 applicants. Essay required on the topic of Distracted Driving. Student will need to create a “Distracted Driving Family Plan” within which the student addresses the safety of their family by proactively committing to a plan that avoids the occurrence(s) of distracted driving by the student and the members of their family. BURGER KING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for high school seniors, BURGER KING® employees, their dependent children, spouses, or domestic partners in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Guam can apply to receive $1,000 to $50,000 scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year! THE ELEVATE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SCHOLARSHIP: The Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students have personally experienced challenges with mental health or have had people close to them who have experienced mental health challenges. Students applying to the scholarship will be required to write an essay about how their experience with mental health has influenced their beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. While not required, working or volunteering at organizations that increase mental health awareness, provide mental health support, or research mental health solutions will be a plus on student applications. CHAIRISH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM- Each year, the Chairish Scholarship Program awards $5,000 in college scholarships to deserving students. The Design Your Future scholarship is designed to support students from diverse backgrounds and students who are majoring in design-related fields such as architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and engineering fields. This scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors, college undergraduates, and graduate students, students are asked to submit a 500-word essay designing their ideal future and their plans to achieve that dream, a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA required, and students must be enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited 2-year, 4-year, or vocational/technical college or university in the U.S. Click here for the application on the scholarship website. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIPS: The National FFA Organization provides scholarships designed to fit the diversity of our applicants. Scholarships sponsored by businesses and individuals, through the National FFA Foundation, are awarded to support a wide variety of higher education plans and career goals. GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute and GE seeks to award a $10,000 per year scholarship that is renewable for up to 3 additional years totally $40,000. This scholarship is available to high school seniors who demonstrate a strong sense of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship at school, at the workplace, and in the community. SUPERMONEY SCHOLARSHIP: SuperMoney is excited to announce that we are offering a scholarship to eligible student who are enrolled full-time in high school as a senior or at least part-time in college, graduate, professional, trade school, or coding bootcamp, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, be a permanent resident or a U.S. citizen, upload an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification document, and must provide your written essay. ENGINEERS FOUNDATION OF OHIO SCHOLARSHIP: These scholarships are administered by the Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO), a non-profit educational foundation dedicated to the advancement of engineering education in cooperation with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE). Requirements include 3.0 minimum grade point average (A=4), minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25), be a citizen of the U.S. & permanent resident of Ohio, and be a graduating high school senior. ATHENA/WOMAN OF THE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 scholarship to a deserving female high school senior who has demonstrated community involvement, academic achievement, and leadership. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be accepted at a recognized institution of learning offering a post-high school curriculum. THE DREAM U.S. OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP-TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship is for undocumented students (or Dreamers) who live in 20 targeted, locked out states where they cannot access in-state tuition. The Opportunity Scholarship provides up to $80,000 to cover tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals for a bachelor’s degree at one of our 5 Partner Colleges in another state. OUTSTANDING SENIOR HIGH YOUTH AWARD:  The Epsilon Sigma Alpha International Council (ESA) and Ohio State Council (OSC) of ESA presents this award once a year.  The OSC presents the state winner with a $500.00 check.  The state winner is forwarded to the ESA Outstanding Youth Chair and committee for review and determination of a winner of a $1,000.00 scholarship. EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The ESA Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and continues to award numerous scholarships annually. STOP THE HATE SCHOLARSHIP: Stop the Hate Youth Speak Out celebrates students committed to creating a more accepting, inclusive society. By reflecting on real-life situations and detailing ways to make a positive difference in the world, this next generation of leaders can win big. Stop the Hate is designed to create an appreciation and understanding among people of differing religions, races, cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. By challenging young people to consider the benefits of a more inclusive society, the consequences of intolerance and the role of personal responsibility in effecting change, the contest also reflects Jewish values of responsible citizenship and respect for all humanity. Each year, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage gives out $100,000 in scholarships, awards and anti-bias education in recognition of 6-12th grade upstanders in Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne counties. HBCU WEEK X LEXISNEXIS® RISK SOLUTIONS GROUP SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for incoming freshman students attending HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Applicants must provide most recent, verifiable high school transcript, provide proof of acceptance at an Historically Black College or University (HBCU), be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States, complete or have completed high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) and be entering their freshman year of college, attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the entirety of their college education, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship can be used for tuition, room and board. A student may accept additional scholarships but they cannot exceed the total cost of their education. Click here for the application website. THE PHILOMATHEON SOCIETY OF THE BLIND SCHOLARSHIP: Since 1978, The Philomatheon Society of the Blind has made a scholarship grant available each year for a qualified visually impaired Stark County high school senior or qualified former student. The grant is for one thousand two-hundred and fifty dollars ($1,250.00) for each of two years of college or advance training. The term "Blind Individual" means an individual whose central visual acuity does not exceed 20/200 in the better eye, with correcting lenses, or whose visual acuity is greater than 20/200 but is accompanied by a limitation in the fields of vision, such that the widest diameter of the visual field subtends an angle no greater than 20 degrees. THE USDA/1890 NATIONAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program was established in 1992 as part of the partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the 1890 Land-Grant Universities. Scholarships are awarded annually and must be used at one of the 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. Each award provides full tuition, as well as room and board, for the term of the scholarship. The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward the bachelor's degree. Eligibility includes be a U.S. citizen, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale), have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities, study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines, demonstrate leadership and community service, submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized official's signature, submit a signed application (original signature only), have a 21 ACT, 1080 SAT scores. USDA 1994 TRIBAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM- U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) 1994 Tribal Scholars Program. The USDA 1994 Tribal Scholars Program was established to strengthen the long-term partnership between USDA and the 1994 Land-Grant Institutions by increasing the number of students studying, graduating, and pursuing careers in in food, agriculture, natural resources, and other related fields of study. The USDA 1994 National Scholars Program is implemented under the USDA Fellows Experience Program (FEP). Successful applicants will receive a temporary appointment to the USDA, not to exceed 4years. Upon successful completion of the degree requirements and the end of the agreement period, the scholar is eligible for conversion to permanent appointment in service to USDA without further competition. The USDA 1994 National Scholar is required to:  Be a U.S citizen, have been admitted as well as enrolled as full-time student in a 1994 Land-Grant Tribal College or University or be a recent graduate of one of these schools, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, have demonstrated leadership and community service, have submitted an official transcript with a school seal and/or the signature of an authorized school official, and submit an essay that is 500-800 words describing 1) What motivates you to consider a career in public service working for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Include information about your educational and career goals and how this scholarship may assist you to achieve them; 2) How did you become interested in studying food, agriculture, and natural resource sciences or another related discipline in college. AAA OHIO AUTO CLUB SAFETY PATROL SCHOLARSHIP: The AAA Ohio Auto Club is offering high school seniors the opportunity to apply for one of ten $1,000 grants by competing in the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant Scholarship Program. To apply, students must complete the application form, which includes the student's academic record, safety patrol experience, in-school and out-of-school activities, and references. AHS FOUNDATION THERESA UTTERBACK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: This award is for an Alliance High School senior who demonstrates a clear financial need to assist them with higher education plans. Preference is given to a low income single parent recipient. An applicant from a lower income two parent family who demonstrates need will be given full consideration and should apply. Will also look at GPA, financial need, and work experience. Fill out the AHS Foundation application as well as the separate application. THE OHIO OIL AND GAS ENERGY EDUCATION PROGRAM/FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (Foundation) are proud to provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry. Each scholarship is worth a minimum of $1,000 per year with a total of four years of potential eligibility. The minimum scholarship applicant criteria includes: Must be a U.S. citizen, must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry, must be an OHIO resident OR a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school, and must have and maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher. FIRST COMMONWEALTH BANK SCHOLARSHIP: First Commonwealth Bank has a scholarship program which awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors based on community involvement, GPA, and residence in one of the counties in their footprint (Stark County residents are eligible). Our mission is to improve the financial lives of our neighbors and their businesses. There is no better way to give back to the community than through the education of area youth, which is why we are is excited to offer the First Commonwealth Bank Scholarship Fund. THE COLLEGE CLUB OF CANTON SCHOLARSHIP GRANT: This scholarship is for local women in the Greater Stark County area. Applicants must be attending an accredited college or university in the spring or fall of 2022 and be working toward a two-year, four-year or post graduate degree. BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY TRADE SCHOOL & COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP: The Berkshire Hathaway Trade School & College Scholarship opportunity is for three (3) deserving High School Seniors. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services is sponsoring the 2021-2022 Dream...Innovate... Grow Scholarship(s) to three amazing seniors that embody one or more of these traits. Each scholarship is valued at $1000 per year, for up to four years. Seeking three qualified individuals who intend to become a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for the fall of 2020. The senior must reside within our sales force footprint; 16 counties in Western Pennsylvania and 15 counties in Eastern Ohio (see criteria on application), have maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA (see criteria), and applicants should mirror some of the qualities of our Berkshire Hathaway Home Services team in terms of leadership, volunteerism, character, and an overall positive attitude towards life. YLS BOOK SCHOLARSHIP: College textbooks are a necessary, but costly, expense that is not typically covered by academic scholarships. The United Way of Stark County’s Our Young Leaders Society (YLS) helps ease that burden for students through its textbook scholarship fund. This scholarship is a $1,000 award, renewable for up to four years, created to offset the expense of books needed to further a student’s education after high school. Click here for the application. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU LIFE LESSONS SCHOLARSHIP: The Better Business Bureau awards $6,500 in scholarships to area students each year for the BBB Life Lessons Essay Contest. This theme-based essay contest challenges students to reflect on living a life of integrity and ethics. We would like to invite  high school seniors to participate in the 2022 contest themed “WORK ETHIC”. The BBB’s mission is building an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers trust each other. ELEVATE IWOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP: Elevate Women in Technology ScholarshipScholarship: From shaping our behavior, to shifting our beliefs, to redesigning our interactions, technology is rapidly changing the world. The rise of technology has created a wealth of personal and professional opportunities and the ability to leave a positive dent in the universe. It’s critical that women be at the forefront of our tech-driven world. Globally, women are significantly underrepresented in the tech sector. While many factors contribute to the gender imbalance in tech, it’s indisputable that having more women in tech will fuel innovation and lead to better social and business outcomes. The Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship exists to move the tech industry in the right direction by empowering the next generation of extraordinary women leaders. The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students are women who intend to enter a technical or non-technical career that leverages technology to make the world a better place. OEC TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP: The OEC Technical Scholarship’s purpose is to help cooperative members or children of cooperative members pursue technical training. Applicants will be eligible to win up to a $2,000 scholarship. Applicants must be residential members of an Ohio electric cooperative, or dependent children, or legal wards of permanent residential electric cooperative members receiving electric service at the time of application, applicants may be high school graduates enrolling in a technical program; current technical school enrollees; or students enrolling in a post-undergraduate technical program, applicants must plan to attend or currently attend an accredited technical school program, and applicants must have cumulative grade point averages of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent standing on nontraditional scales. The only attachments permitted are high school transcripts, proof of enrollment*in a program, typed essay responses, and one 500-word letter of recommendation from an instructor. OHIO NATIONAL GUARD MINUTEMAN (MM) SCHOLARSHIP: Minuteman Scholarships can be either two-year GRFD scholarships or DEDNG-GRFD scholarships that cover up to four years. They guarantee that Cadets who commission as Army officers will serve in the Guard. A Minuteman Scholarship requires a nomination letter as part of the scholarship packet and offers either full tuition and mandatory fees or a room and board flat rate of $10,000 per year, covering up to four years (or eight semesters) of benefits. Minuteman Scholarship recipients also receive a $1,200 annual book allowance and a monthly stipend of $420 for 10 months of the academic year. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets must participate in the SMP while attending college, so they will also receive pay for attending a drill one weekend per month and a two-week annual training in a local Guard unit. In return for these scholarship benefits, a Minuteman Cadet will serve as a Commissioned Officer in the Guard in a drilling status for eight years after graduation. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets can be nominated from any State Adjutant General (TAG) or any Civilian Aid to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) in lengths of two years, up to four years, for a scholarship. These scholarships are limited each year, and applications require a nomination memo with a handwritten signature from the nomination source. Requirements include be a U.S. citizen, be accepted to a college/university with an ROTC program, have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 2.0, as an incoming freshman, have a minimum 19 ACT or 1000 SAT to qualify for the four-year Minuteman Scholarship, be under 31 years of age for the entire year of commissioning, be a full-time student, complete the ROTC Basic Course requirements or Basic Combat Training, and medically and morally qualified.
