ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY SCHOLARSHIP: The mission of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.'s National Educational Educational Foundation is to support higher education achievement through scholarships and conduct community education programs and related research to improve individual and community living standards. THROCKMORTON SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for students who met these specific requirements: Student must be African American or Native American and must reside within the Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania geographic region, have a copy of birth certificate, attend an educational facility that must be in Northeastern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania, have a copy of current High School/College grades and GPA, have a current financial needs form from the school that documents grants, scholarships and loans being presently received, have a current bill from the school for the next semester/quarter, have a copy of the courses being taken for the next semester/quarter, write a one or more short paragraphs that should state why you should be considered, your future goals, college major/minor, needs, extracurricular activities at school or in the community, and send in final high school transcript (if applying during senior year of high school). THE BEAUTY + WELLNESS SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is to support the health of college women. Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and must identify as female. HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIPS: These national and state scholarships are based on students pursuing a bachelor's degree, who have at least a 2.0 GPA and who need financial assistance for college. Click here for link.
CARING.COM SCHOLARSHIP: As the population of older adults continues to grow and life spans lengthen, more and more young people are taking on the role of caregiver for older loved ones. While the exact number of young people taking on this responsibility is not well understood, it’s estimated to be well over 1 million.On top of their demanding caregiving duties, many of these young people are simultaneously pursuing high school, college or graduate-level education. COLLEGE BOARD SCHOLARSHIPS: This program was created to help students earn the chance at a scholarship. The program is currently open to class of 2021 students in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories, regardless of citizenship status. U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad may also participate. At least half of all scholarships are designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year.Click here for the application website.
JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is looking for applicants for their College Scholarship. Requirements include Exceptional academic ability and achievement: Strong academic record, academic awards and honors, and substantive assessments by educators providing confidential recommendations. HEISMAN HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP: The Heisman Trophy Trust continues the 28-year tradition of honoring high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities through the Heisman High School Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all. Requirements include students whose senior year of high school is the 2022-2023 academic year, graduating with the class of 2023, students who have at least a weighted “B” grade average (3.0 GPA) during grades 9, 10 and 11, students who participate or have particiated in grades 9, 10, or 11 in at least one of sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations, students who have participated in volunteer service, community involvement or leadership within his/her school or community, and students who are a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (D.C.). VFW’S VOICE OF DEMOCRACY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, nearly 80,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. GREATER CANTON MLK JR. COMMISSION 2023 SCHOLARSHIP: Every year we have the privilege of giving out scholarships for our students in the Stark County community and this year is no different. JUAN ANDRADE SCHOLARSHIP: The Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders through the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), is seeking to award up to $1,000 to eligible applicants. ELEVATE IWOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP: Elevate Women in Technology ScholarshipScholarship: From shaping our behavior, to shifting our beliefs, to redesigning our interactions, technology is rapidly changing the world. The rise of technology has created a wealth of personal and professional opportunities and the ability to leave a positive dent in the universe. It’s critical that women be at the forefront of our tech-driven world. Globally, women are significantly underrepresented in the tech sector. While many factors contribute to the gender imbalance in tech, it’s indisputable that having more women in tech will fuel innovation and lead to better social and business outcomes. The Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship exists to move the tech industry in the right direction by empowering the next generation of extraordinary women leaders. The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students are women who intend to enter a technical or non-technical career that leverages technology to make the world a better place. THE ELEVATE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SCHOLARSHIP: The Elevate Mental Health Awareness Scholarship The scholarship is open to students at any educational level and field of study. The only application requirement is that students have personally experienced challenges with mental health or have had people close to them who have experienced mental health challenges. Students applying to the scholarship will be required to write an essay about how their experience with mental health has influenced their beliefs, relationships, and career aspirations. While not required, working or volunteering at organizations that increase mental health awareness, provide mental health support, or research mental health solutions will be a plus on student applications. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU LIFE LESSONS SCHOLARSHIP: BBB Life Lessons is a theme-based essay contest that challenges students to reflect on living a life of integrity and ethics. The essays are submitted online and reviewed by a panel of judges. The top six essays are then awarded scholarships ranging from $500 -$2,500. This theme-based essay contest challenges students to reflect on living a life of integrity and ethics. We would like to invite high school seniors to participate in the 2023 contest themed “HONESTY”. Guidelines for the contest include that this scholarship is available to any high school senior located within the Canton Regional & Greater West Virginia BBB’s 64 county service areas, no minimum GPA required, and scholarship funds must be used to attend a career/technical, college, university or trade school after high school graduation. DIRK DERRICK CAR & TRUCK ACCIDENT INJURY SCHOLARSHIP: The Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad in the United States who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Dirk Derrick Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the lasting effect an auto accident has had on their life as well as their journey to overcome those challenges. EQUITABLE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP: Equitable Foundation has established the Equitable Excellence® Scholarship Program Scholarship Program to assist high school seniors who are planning to continue their education at a two- or four-year college in the United States by Fall 2024. Applicants to the Equitable Excellence® Scholarship Program Scholarship Program must be current high school seniors in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year, demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in school, community or work activities, be willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information about their achievements along with photographs for use in program promotion and information, and have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. THE JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides a multi-faceted experience designed to not only address the financial needs of students who aspire to attend college but to guide them through the process of higher education. To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must be a graduating, minority high school senior, be a United States citizen, present evidence of financial need, demonstrate a record of academic excellence, demonstrate leadership potential and a dedication to community service, submit an official SAT and/or ACT test exam score from junior or senior year, plan to attend an accredited and approved 4-year college within the United States or affiliated with a United States-based college or university, have not accrued more than 25% of credits needed to graduate from college. MARK BELTER SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENT ATHLETES: Applicants for the Mark Belter Scholarship for Student Athletes must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend a college or university in the United States. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and must have participated in at least one varsity-level sport during their high school career. They must have demonstrated leadership skills both on and off the field and must submit a 500-1000 word essay on the importance of teamwork in achieving success, and how being a student athlete has prepared them for future challenges. They also must provide two letters of recommendation, one from a coach and one from a teacher or other non-family member and must complete the scholarship application and provide all required documents by the deadline. ENGINEERS FOUNDATION OF OHIO SCHOLARSHIP: These scholarships are administered by the Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO), a non-profit educational foundation dedicated to the advancement of engineering education in cooperation with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE). Requirements include 3.0 minimum grade point average (A=4), minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25), be a citizen of the U.S. & permanent resident of Ohio, and be a graduating high school senior. THE DREAM U.S. OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP-TheDream.US Opportunity Scholarship is for undocumented students (or Dreamers) who live in 20 targeted, locked out states where they cannot access in-state tuition. The Opportunity Scholarship provides up to $80,000 to cover tuition, fees, on-campus housing, and meals for a bachelor’s degree at one of our 5 Partner Colleges in another state. THE USDA/1890 NATIONAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM: The USDA/1890 National Scholars Program was established in 1992 as part of the partnership between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the 1890 Land-Grant Universities. Scholarships are awarded annually and must be used at one of the 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities. Each award provides full tuition, as well as room and board, for the term of the scholarship. The scholarship may be renewed each year, contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and normal progress toward the bachelor's degree. Eligibility includes be a U.S. citizen, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale), have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Historically Black Land-Grant Universities, study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines, demonstrate leadership and community service, submit an official transcript with the school seal and an authorized official's signature, submit a signed application (original signature only), have a 21 ACT, 1080 SAT scores. EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The ESA Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and continues to award numerous scholarships annually. HBCU WEEK X LEXISNEXIS® RISK SOLUTIONS GROUP SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for incoming freshman students attending HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Applicants must provide most recent, verifiable high school transcript, provide proof of acceptance at an Historically Black College or University (HBCU), be a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States, complete or have completed high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) and be entering their freshman year of college, attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the entirety of their college education, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship can be used for tuition, room and board. A student may accept additional scholarships but they cannot exceed the total cost of their education. Click here for the application website. AHS FOUNDATION THERESA UTTERBACK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP: This award is for an Alliance High School senior who demonstrates a clear financial need to assist them with higher education plans. Preference is given to a low income single parent recipient. An applicant from a lower income two parent family who demonstrates need will be given full consideration and should apply. CLASS OF 2024 BLOOD DRIVE SCHOLARSHIP FOR PRE-MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS STUDENTS - Must have GPA of 2.5 and plan to attend a 2 or 4 yr. college. School, community activities and awards must be attached as well as transcripts and letters of recommendation. See Mrs. Woodruff for deadline and application.
THE CANTELL AND GLADYS MERRELL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND-The Cantell and Gladys Merrell Education Scholarship Foundation is the charitable arm of Cantell Lodge #1417 and Gladys Merrell Temple #1049 in Alliance, Ohio. The Art Malone Memorial Scholarship was established in June 2023. The one-time $1000 scholarship is awarded to a high school graduating senior residing in or graduating from Alliance, Marlington, Sebring, and West Branch School Districts. The applicant must plan to attend an accredited college, university, or training school upon graduation. To apply for this award, please submit the following- A completed and signed application form , a copy of your transcript, one faculty reference letter on school letterhead, one personal reference letter (non-school personnel) , and an attached 100 words or more typed essay explaining why you should be awarded this scholarship and your life and career goals. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services is sponsoring the 2023-2024 Dream...Innovate... Grow Scholarship(s) to three amazing seniors that embody one or more of these traits. Each scholarship is valued at $1000 per year, for up to four years. Seeking three qualified individuals who intend to become a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for the fall of 2020. CAROL STRIP WHITNEY SCHOLARSHIP- The Carol Strip Whitney Scholarship represents a life of passion, as she has taught gifted children for 45 years. OEC TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP: The OEC Technical Scholarship’s purpose is to help cooperative members or children of cooperative members pursue technical training. Applicants will be eligible to win up to a $2,000 scholarship. Applicants must be residential members of an Ohio electric cooperative, or dependent children, or legal wards of permanent residential electric cooperative members receiving electric service at the time of application, applicants may be high school graduates enrolling in a technical program; current technical school enrollees; or students enrolling in a post-undergraduate technical program, applicants must plan to attend or currently attend an accredited technical school program, and applicants must have cumulative grade point averages of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent standing on nontraditional scales. OHIO NATIONAL GUARD MINUTEMAN (MM) SCHOLARSHIP: Minuteman Scholarships can be either two-year GRFD scholarships or DEDNG-GRFD scholarships that cover up to four years. They guarantee that Cadets who commission as Army officers will serve in the Guard. A Minuteman Scholarship requires a nomination letter as part of the scholarship packet and offers either full tuition and mandatory fees or a room and board flat rate of $10,000 per year, covering up to four years (or eight semesters) of benefits. Minuteman Scholarship recipients also receive a $1,200 annual book allowance and a monthly stipend of $420 for 10 months of the academic year. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets must participate in the SMP while attending college, so they will also receive pay for attending a drill one weekend per month and a two-week annual training in a local Guard unit. In return for these scholarship benefits, a Minuteman Cadet will serve as a Commissioned Officer in the Guard in a drilling status for eight years after graduation. Minuteman Scholarship Cadets can be nominated from any State Adjutant General (TAG) or any Civilian Aid to the Secretary of the Army (CASA) in lengths of two years, up to four years, for a scholarship. These scholarships are limited each year, and applications require a nomination memo with a handwritten signature from the nomination source. Requirements include be a U.S. citizen, be accepted to a college/university with an ROTC program, have a 2.5 cumulative GPA and maintain a 2.0, as an incoming freshman, have a minimum 19 ACT or 1000 SAT to qualify for the four-year Minuteman Scholarship, be under 31 years of age for the entire year of commissioning, be a full-time student, complete the ROTC Basic Course requirements or Basic Combat Training, and medically and morally qualified.
